Enrollment and Exmatriculation
Enrollment
Applicants who are admitted to study at the HFBK must provide documentary evidence of sufficient health insurance cover and pay their semester contribution not later than 15 August. Any documents which have not yet been submitted (certificates, curriculum vitae, passport photos etc.) must be submitted before 31 August. You will find the respective information letter in HISinOne (»Your Documents«).
As soon as all documents and the semester contribution have reached the University, we will send you proofs of enrollment (the § 9 certificate for BAföG agency, HVV Hamburg public transport semester ticket, student ID, and certificate of enrollment).
Exmaticulation/Deregistration
After the final examination, you will be de-registered at the end of the semester in which you take the final examination.
If you wish to terminate your studies earlier, you can do so by submitting an application at the end of the semester or during the current semester on a specific date (not retroactively). The application for de-registration must be submitted digitally via the student portal.
Upon de-registration, you can have the costs for your semester ticket/Germany ticket reimbursed by S-Bahn Hamburg on a pro-rata basis for the remaining period of use upon presentation of your de-registration certificate. The reimbursement request, together with a copy of the de-registration certificate and your bank details, must be sent by mail to the following address:
